The system chosen must be as hermetic as possible against
the entry of water and the escape of air.
Furthermore, all the main and secondary structural members
must have a thermal break, that is, a PVC insulator between
the inner and outer frame parts, so that the aluminium does
not transmit the heat from outside.
To ensure water- and air-tightness, the seals should be
of the EPDM push-in gasket type, since the use of beading
will not achieve the desired airtightness, thus greatly increasing
energy costs and complicating treatment and maintenance.
